This is what changes when you set the rules yourself.
Imagine: you walk through your own firm and it feels like yours. Not like a play in which you're trying to perform the right role. Not like a place where you keep having to shrink yourself a little to keep up. Like a space you built around who you truly are.
You feel the difference in your body. The tension a big case brings is still there. You just carry it differently. It no longer races through you as something to tame. You feel it, you let it pass, and you decide with a clear head. Your way. Sharper than the people who play it as it's always been played, and without it draining you anymore.
Clients choose you because you're different. Your distinctiveness is exactly what draws them. You don't have to imitate anyone, you don't have to be bigger or harder than you are. You are yourself, and that is precisely what attracts the people who fit you and the cases you want.
Your firm grows and you grow with it. As an entrepreneur and as a person. And your days feel like yours, because you've built them around who you truly are.
This is what I teach you. Not as an idea, but as a skill you feel in your body and in your days.
You keep up an image that fits you less and less.
You're sharp, fast, and rarely caught off guard. Clients trust you. Your team looks up to you. And still, something gnaws at you that runs deeper than a busy week.
You uphold an image. The lawyer who plays the game the right way. Who runs along in a world with rules she didn't make herself. You do it well. You do it cleverly. And all the while you hold back a part of yourself. The part that would handle it differently — sharper, more human. In a way that fits you better.
Your calendar is the symptom of it. Your day starts with a plan and ends with everything that came in between. You chase things that chose you. At a pace that isn't yours, along a yardstick others laid down. The days race, the weeks pile up, and you ask yourself whether this is really what you're doing it all for.
You've long known it can be different. You feel it in the moments you act against your intuition because that's how it's supposed to be. In the times you swallow something you actually wanted to say. In the quiet knowing that your way, if you dared to live it, would take you further than this.
Your brake isn't in your knowledge. It's in what you do the moment the pressure is on. You fall back on the learned reflex, on the image, on how it's supposed to be. Trained by years in a profession that long mistook distinctiveness for weakness.
That's where I shift it. I teach you to live your own way, with the steadiness to keep it up when it matters.
What you'll notice, even in the first weeks.
You decide faster. The endless weighing between what's expected and what you actually want falls away. You just know, and you act on it.
You say no more often without guilt. And your yeses regain meaning, because you mean them.
The pressure doesn't disappear — it's part of the top of your profession. It just no longer has a grip on you. You're at the wheel, even in the storm.
You're still just as ambitious as ever. There's just no fear underneath it anymore. You build from trust, from strength, from yourself.
And the best part: your way turns out to work. The clients come, the cases fit, your firm grows and it feels like yours. Your team becomes calmer because you are calmer. At home you're really there again. You feel softer and stronger at the same time, and you wonder why you didn't start building on who you truly are much sooner.
No talking about change. Training until it's yours.
You've talked enough about calm and steadiness. You know how it's supposed to be. What you need is for it to settle in. In the moments that count and in the situations that truly matter.
That's why I work with the Resilience Framework™. Three layers of self-direction that we don't just discuss. We train them. With real cases from your practice. With the conversations you'll have tomorrow. With the moments where you used to derail and where you'll soon stay calm.
Direction in your body
You learn what happens inside you when tension rises, and you learn to steer your system before it steers you. The reflex that made your heart pound and your head fill up gives way to a calm you can summon yourself. Staying clear when it counts becomes something your body can do.
Direction in your mind
You get clarity in the moment itself. You see faster what is fact here and what you are adding to it. The noise drops away, direction returns, and your mind becomes a place where you can think again instead of churn.
Direction in your communication
You speak from leadership. Shorter, calmer, with a natural authority you don't have to force. A client, an opposing party, your own team: you stay human and you stay standing — all three at once.
For the lawyer who knows she doesn't have to choose.
You want to move forward. Nothing in you longs to downshift or take a step back. You want both: the success and the life, the ambition and the calm, the large firm and the freedom to build it your way.
You recognise yourself in this: you function well and at the same time feel that it can be different. You know your approach will take you further than continuing to play the game the way it's supposed to be played — and you're ready to dare to build on that. You're not looking for a therapist. You're looking for someone who knows your world because she has stood in it herself. And you're willing to look honestly at your own patterns, even when it stings.
You're hoping someone will clear your calendar while nothing else changes. You're looking for a trick for next week. Or deep down you'd rather keep playing it as it's supposed to be played, because that feels safer.
One clear route.

Lobke, former lawyer.
Former lawyer. Now the trainer I wish I'd had myself.
I know your world from the inside. The weekends that weren't weekends. The case that came to bed with you and was still there in the morning. The quiet idea that letting go meant falling short.
I built the way you build. And I ran into the same limit you're starting to feel. That's where I learned what I now teach you — the hard way, from the inside out.
That's why I cut to the core quickly. Why I sense unfailingly where you walk past yourself. And why I don't let you off the hook, because someone who circles around you is no use to you.

Scherper — the podcast
Conversations and thoughts on leadership, growing bigger and staying yourself. No detours.
In their own words.
I feel softer and stronger at the same time. I didn't think that was possible.
I'm still ambitious and driven. Just no longer from survival. I feel that difference in everything.
For the first time I feel I can grow without losing myself.
Lobke is the coach you didn't know you needed. She's sharp in her observations, doesn't dance around anything and tells you exactly what you need to hear instead of what you might…
Every month you keep playing the game, you leave growth on the table that could have been yours.
Your firm is growing. More cases, more people, more weight on your shoulders. Exactly what you wanted. And exactly the moment when the learned pattern asserts itself most strongly. Because the bigger it gets, the riskier it feels to do it differently.
That's how you build an ever larger firm on a foundation that isn't yours. It holds for a while. And every month you hold yourself back, you miss the clients, the cases and the growth that were drawn to your distinctiveness in the first place.
The way that truly fits you, you won't find by waiting for it to become clear on its own. You train it now, while you still have the room to choose how big you want to become and in what way.
